For this group project, Josef Belton, Anneke Maarhuis, Cecelia Zhou and myself worked over six weeks to create a an immersive installation that replicated the feelings and atmospheres that we experienced the top of Matairangi, or otherwise known as Mount Victoria, Wellington.
Project Statement
"Looking towards Te Ō’s gentle pools and Te Keo’s falling tears for visual language, we looked to create an experience which embodied feelings of awe and safety - while also reiterating the individuals' identity as being defined through connections and whakapapa. The cycling of waters through the lands, skies and our bodies unites us into a reciprocal  community through which we are in constant conversation, but we can only see when we find a moment of stillness."

Central Design: Te Keo's Tears
Wind causes the 'tears' to ripple in the water beneath, the scene reflected in a floor mirror. Within the floor mirror are many small mirrors, which visitors can choose to pick up and use to reflect the stars above them during a moment of stillness.
Eventually, the sun begins to rise. It is a new day, a time to reflect and amend.
